Republicans around the country are getting excited over the prospect of ex-Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin running for president in 2012. But people in New Hampshire haven’t seen much of her, and that surprises them, given
that their state hosts the nation’s first primary
after the Iowa caucuses, The Hill reports.
Palin has made several stops in Iowa, and New Hampshire Republicans say it’s important that she make herself visible in the Granite State too if she hopes to capture the nomination. “A lot of people are surprised Palin hasn’t made a visit or contact," Manchester, N.H. GOP chairman Cliff Hurst tells the Boston Herald. "Maybe she’s getting enough press as it is."
One GOP strategist says Palin’s strong conservative views may not play well in New Hampshire. But that should be less of a problem in Iowa.
