Rove Book Auction Moves Slowly

By    |   Monday, 17 December 2007 04:12 PM EST

The auction for former top George Bush adviser Karl Rove’s memoir has dragged on for a month without a buyer emerging.

One early report had predicted that the book by Rove — considered the architect of Bush’s electoral victories — would fetch $3 million. Now some insiders are wondering if Rove is having trouble getting that high a figure, according to Crain’s New York Business.

“It’s very, very slow,” said an executive at one publishing house involved in the bidding.

Rove is being represented by lawyer Robert Barnett, who previously won multimillion-dollar advances for books by Hillary and Bill Clinton, Alan Greenspan, and Tony Blair.
