GOP Rep. Gosar: We’ll Reform Healthcare

By    |   Thursday, 20 January 2011 05:49 PM EST

Republicans in the House aren’t just about repealing Obamacare. They want to present Americans with real, effective healthcare reform, Rep. Paul Gosar, R-Ariz., tells Politico.

“I’ve never known of a government’s ability to run a healthcare Republicans, House, healthcare, reform, Paul Gosarprogram. The taxes will destroy businesses, and that a bureaucrat sits between you and your healthcare provider is the most egregious part of the whole program,” he says.

So Obamacare needs to be repealed. “People spoke resoundingly in November and put pressure on a very unpopular bill. I’m following through, but also following through to come back with reforms that work and that are patient-centered,” Gosar says.

“We are going to come back with reforms that are patient-centered, and we’re going to work with the American people. There was a lack of dialogue on something so personalized as healthcare. That’s the whole problem here. We’ll empower people to be part of the discussion. There was none of that.”
