Donald Trump leads all other potential 2012 Republican presidential candidates in the latest Rasmussen Reports poll of likely GOP primary voters.
The billionaire real estate mogul and reality TV star garnered 19 percent of the vote, just ahead of Mitt Romney with 17 percent. Mike Huckabee collected 15 percent, and Sarah Palin and Newt Gingrich were tied with 9 percent.
In January, before Trump said he was considering a run for the White House, Romney led the pack with 24 percent, with Palin at 19 percent, Huckabee at 17 percent, and Gingrich at 11 percent.
In the new poll, Trump leads among male voters, while women prefer Romney. Trump is also the favorite among voters who identify themselves as members of the tea party movement, with 22 percent support compared to 16 percent among non-members.
Trump also leads the other candidates among all income groups, Rasmussen disclosed.
Ron Paul collected 8 percent of the vote in the new poll, followed by Tim Pawlenty (5 percent), and Mitch Daniels (3 percent). Five percent said they prefer another candidate, and 11 percent are undecided.
