When President Barack Obama was on the campaign trail, he said his administration would be different. It would not be “about serving your former employer, your future employer or your bank account,”
Politico reports. But that hasn’t turned out to be the case.
“With his administration at its midpoint, a traditional time for personnel turnover, it’s clear that despite Obama’s avowals, a longtime truism of Washington life — that a prestigious-sounding administration post can be a lucrative career enhancer — remains unchanged,” the news service states.

Officials have quietly departed the administration for lucrative jobs in lobbying, financial services and public relations. They have landed at prominent companies and firms such as the Glover Park Group, VOX Global, Facebook, Comcast, Bloomberg, DirecTV, Sprint Nextel and T-Mobile.
“You haven’t seen this revolving door turning much until recently,” says headhunter Chris Jones of CapitolWorks.
