"Last night, Hillary Clinton gave a Reagan-esque speech," says Micheal Reagan, referring to her speech Tuesday night after the primaries, in an exclusive interview with Newsmax.
He went on to say that both Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama electrified their listeners in their respective speeches, while they got nothing but empty words from the GOP candidates. Reagan is a talk-show host, Newsmax pundit, and eldest son of the late President Ronald Reagan.
He explains how those speeches affected their listeners: "If you are a newcomer to politics and you're undecided on who you are going to vote for, but know you are going to vote for the candidate who gives you substance instead of mere promises, there is no doubt in my mind you are going to vote for the Democrat nominee because that's where the beef is."
Hillary's speech was "Reagan-esque in the way that she laid out where she's been, where she wants to take us, and how she wants to enlist our help in getting us there," he says.
He also has praise for Barack Obama: "Last night, Obama also gave a resoundingly wonderful speech. Go back, however, and listen to McCain, go back and listen to Mitt Romney, and theres nothing, in their speeches to draw you in, to say 'Go with me — we're going all the way to the White House in 2009.'
"They are not uplifting; there's no direction to them; they don't tell us where they've been, where they want to go, and how they want to enlist our help," Reagan says.
"Unless Republicans start acting like Reagan and quit talking like Reagan, the only place they are going in November is home."
