Actor and director Mel Gibson has met with several government ministers in Costa Rica to discuss plans to set up a film production company in the Central American nation.
Gibson, director of last year’s Mayan epic “Apocalypto,” already owns a home on the country’s Pacific coast.
“I’m here exploring opportunities to establish my film business in Costa Rica,” Gibson said in remarks reported by the (Lakeland, Fla.) Ledger.
“I love it here. It’s a beautiful country, very stable.
“I like its people a lot — and they have very good coffee.”
As Newsmax reported earlier, Gibson met with Costa Rican President Oscar Arias in late July to discuss making a financial donation to help the country’s Indians.
