Mainstream media have suggested Sarah Palin may be partly to blame for the Arizona political shooting Saturday, and legendary conservative scholar Bill Kristol pundit isn’t happy about it. In an appearance on C-SPAN, Kristol founder of The Weekly Standard, called the criticism of Alaska’s former governor "a disgrace,"
The Hill reports .

He notes there’s no proof that suspected shooter Jared Loughner was a fan of Palin or went to her website, which had labeled Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, D-Ariz., and other Democrats as political targets last year.
The site included a graphic of crosshairs that sparked the media criticism.
Those who fault Palin, such as Paul Krugman of The New York Times are engaging in "McCarthyism, Kristol says.
”The attempt to exploit this tragedy is distasteful." Both have used words like "targets" in campaigns, he notes. And Loughner doesn't appear to have been involved in partisan politics.
