Many liberals are upset that fellow left winger Keith Olbermann has left his spot on MSNBC’s “Countdown.” And some are now urging him to run for retiring Connecticut Sen. Joe Lieberman's seat,
The Hill reports.
Activists at the Pennsylvania Progressive Summit hatched plans druing the weekend to push Olbermann to run. They already have activated Facebook and Twitter pages for their cause, and a website is expected to appear soon.
"We’re using our full set of campaign tools, but they won’t go active until we get a little downtime while we’re in D.C.," a blogger named “Stranded Wind” wrote on the liberal website Daily Kos. Olbermann "used to live in Connecticut and could easily return and establish residency."
Olbermann departed "Countdown" Friday. Duringthe weekend, he said he would return to his Baseball Nerd blog on MLB.com but didn’t reveal any other plans.
