Academy Award winning actor Jon Voight is in South Florida to promote Giuliani's run for the White House, according to a CBS report.
In addition to an appearance, Friday, on CBS4 News, Voight was slated to greet voters at an early voting location at the Miami-Dade County Elections Department Voter Information Center.
Following the voter greeting, Voight is booked to share lunch with supporters at a JJ's American Diner, located in Coral Gables. He'll attend a phone bank at Giuliani's Miami-Dade campaign headquarters, noted the report.
Voight says, "America is approaching one of its most important elections in history and we must elect a leader with the strength and resolve of Rudy Giuliani. His commitment to keeping our military strong and his track record of transforming New York makes him the right man at the right time for our country."
Voight won an Oscar for his role as a Vietnam veteran in the 1978 film "Coming Home."
Giuliani said he was honored to have Voight's support. "Our shared vision of maintaining America's strength and providing the focus for the challenges we face is one that is shared by countless others who are supporting our campaign."
