While President Barack Obama is busy ruing the deterioration of his relationship with America’s business community, Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., is busy building his. The incoming chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee is going straight to businesses and asking them which onerous White House regulations he should go after this year,
Politico reports.
Issa’s surveying the oil industry, drug manufacturers and all kinds of other businesses and trade groups to make sure he gets all the needed information. In total he has sent letters to more than 150 trade associations, companies and think tanks in the last month to find out which Obama regulations are most curbing job growth.
"It was a broad net that we cast," Issa spokesman Kurt Bardella tells Politico.
