Hudson Institute: Obamacare Repeal for Real

Some mainstream media pundits dismiss Republican efforts to repeal the new healthcare law as a political ploy. Not so, says Tevi Troy, a visiting senior fellow at the Hudson Institute and deputy secretary of Health and Human Services during the Bush (II) administration. “The House vote to repeal the Obama healthcare bill may be a symbolic one, but the repeal effort is no gimmick,” he writes on Politico.

“Republicans are engaged in a serious campaign to repeal the new law, and are using all of the legislative, judicial, and public relations tools at their disposal. The House leaders know that the repeal vote may go no farther than House passage at this point, but they will then follow up with a series of other initiatives to repeal the bill's most noxious elements, as well as hearings and reports that will keep building the case for starting over on healthcare reform.”
