Bestselling author John Grisham is aiding Hillary Clinton’s fundraising efforts, sending an e-mail to potential supporters urging them to contribute to her presidential campaign.
“Hillary once told me that she reads my novels for relaxation,” wrote Grisham, whose books include “The Client” and “The Pelican Brief.”
“It’s an honor to have her reading my books, but given that I write about suspense and high drama, I sure hope she meant it as a compliment.
“Either way, she’s a great friend, and I even finagled an invitation to sit with Bill to watch her in an upcoming debate.”
Grisham’s e-mail links to an e-mail from Hillary’s campaign, urging recipients to make a donation to her presidential effort.
The e-mail also promises that three contributors will be chosen to watch the upcoming debate with Bill.
Referring to an earlier e-mail from former junk food junkie Bill that mentioned “a big bowl of chips,” Hillary asks: “If you are one of the three people who get the chance to join him, can you make sure he eats carrots, not chips?”
