Iowa Sen. Charles Grassley says Rudy Giuliani has made a “big mistake” by curtailing his campaigning in Iowa.
Grassley, a Republican, said Giuliani could be hamstrung in his quest for the GOP presidential nomination if he doesn't finish at least second in the Iowa caucuses, according to the Des Moines Register.
“It’s a big mistake on his part” to not spend more time in the Hawkeye state, Grassley told the Register.
Grassley also said:
Many undecided voters are backing Sen. John McCain. He said he sees McCain as “very viable." He likely won’t go to his own precinct caucuses because he will be at GOP events in Des Moines. His earlier prediction that Mitt Romney would win the Iowa caucuses was “a little bit in question” now because of the strong support Mike Huckabee has from evangelical Christians.
