GOP 2012 Hopefuls Mum on Obama Egypt Policy

Top congressional Republicans have offered support for President Barack Obama’s cautious stance on the turmoil in Egypt. But most of the top potential 2012 GOP presidential candidates haven’t joined the chorus. Indeed, many of them aren’t even commenting on the issue, Politico reports.

Rick Perry, South Carolina Sen. Jim DeMint, Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels, former New Mexico Gov. Gary Johnson, Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann and Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal declined to comment.

Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich have been willing to talk, with Romney praising the president and Gingrich criticizing him.
