All of the major presidential campaigns have been running television commercials except one – Rudy Giuliani has yet to run a TV ad.
Giuliani’s campaign said on Sunday that he would launch an effort this week to play up the “pre-Sept. 11” Rudy, focusing on his accomplishments not only as New York City mayor but also as a federal prosecutor and Justice Department official.
But instead of using television, the campaign will feature a series of videos posted on Giuliani’s Web site, on YouTube, and on other Internet sites, the New York Times reported.
Giuliani’s campaign strategy is to concentrate his efforts on large, later-voting states, including New York and California, which have large numbers of the moderate Republicans he needs to attract because of his positions on social issues, according to the Times. But those states have some of the highest TV advertising rates.
