Everybody knows the fundraising power of ex-Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin. But former House Speaker Newt Gingrich is turning into a big money maker for Republicans too,
The Hill reports.

His PAC American Solutions generated $314,000 over the past 1 ½ months, second only to $460,000 for Palin’s PAC during that period, according to Federal Election Commission filings. Gingrich donated $200,000 to Republican candidates around the country. And he doled out
$20,000 to Iowa's House Majority Fund. Gingrich also has a 527 group that he used for most of his fundraising over the past year.
As for Palin, her PAC offered financial support to almost 50 congressional candidates in the month ahead of the elections. She also donated to state Republican Parties in South Carolina, New Hampshire and Alaska.
Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney's Free and Strong America PAC raised $285,000 in the last 1 ½ months. But adding the $273,000 he raised through his state PACs puts him in first place at $558,000.
