Although Sen. Christopher Dodd paints himself to be a politician careful to distance himself from the influence of lobbyists, he spent the weekend hanging out with those very same lobbyists.
According to The Hill newspaper, Dodd was present for the annual Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee retreat on Martha's Vineyard, where a number of high-powered lobbyists also were in attendance.
Dodd, D-Conn., is promoting his anti-lobbyist credentials on his campaign Web site, where a voiceover for one video states: "You almost have to feel sorry for the poor lobbyists. They just can't get Chris Dodd to listen to them," reports The Hill.
