CHICAGO (AP) — Former President Bill Clinton says Rahm Emanuel was one of the main reasons he was elected president.
Clinton praised his former top aide Tuesday at a rally in Chicago, where Emanuel is running to replace the retiring Mayor Richard Daley.
Emanuel calls Clinton his mentor and says there's no better role model. Clinton told the crowd that Emanuel is someone who is "fearlessly honest."
Emanuel is one of six candidates on the Feb. 22 ballot for mayor.
Clinton says being Chicago mayor is a big job. He says Emanuel knows how to set good policy and make things happen.
