Barack Obama is stepping up his fundraising game — with none other than Warren Buffett leading the charge.
The New York Times reported on Thursday that billionaire Buffett was the main event at a Chicago economic roundtable hosted by John W. Rogers Jr., chairman and CEO of Ariel Capital Management. The roundtable doubled as an Obama fundraiser with attendees each pledging $28,000, the maximum contribution.
After the event, Penny Pritzker, Obama's campaign finance chairwoman and heir to the Hyatt hotel fortune, hosted a fundraising dinner, with the requisite deep-dish $28,000 price tag.
Obama is forging ahead to fill his campaign coffers after eschewing public financing.
