Bill: Hillary Turned Down Lucrative Jobs

By    |   Monday, 07 January 2008 02:35 PM EST

Does the fact that Hillary Clinton did not seek lucrative jobs after law school make her an attractive presidential candidate? Her husband Bill thinks so.

In a fundraising e-mail, the former president acknowledges that Hillary is in a “very close race” on the eve of the New Hampshire primary, and tells supporters:

“I’ve known Hillary long enough to know she’s running for president for exactly the right reasons. She’s running for the same reason she didn’t pursue lucrative job offers from big law firms when she left law school — and instead worked to help children.

“She running for the same reason she has worked hard for the last 35 years, to bring real change to people’s lives.

“Now let’s do everything we can to help her win. Contribute today to make an immediate difference for her campaign.”

Hillary did post-graduate work on children and medicine after graduating from Yale Law School ion 1973. In 1977, she joined the powerful Rose Law Firm in Arkansas.
