1. MoveOn.org Makes Hollywood Connection

MoveOn.org has had an alliance with Hollywood of the unholy kind for a long time.

With financing provided by The New York Times, the far-left organization recently slandered one of the military’s finest, Gen. David Petraeus, by way of an ad in the Times.

Tinsetowners failed to speak out against the shameful ad even after lefty kindred spirits John Kerry and Nancy Pelosi did.

In a past MoveOn/Hollywood collaboration, the group was key to Michael Moore’s success. In June 2004 it prodded its members to pledge to buy tickets to Moore’s flagrant propaganda flick “Fahrenheit 9/11.” Over 100,000 of the zany zealots signed on.

To boost Moore’s screen count, MoveOn asked its members to send e-mails to movie theaters expressing support for the film fabrication. And it distributed leaflets at venues all over the country inviting people to house parties featuring a Moore online conference call to double talk about the flick.

MoveOn's Eli Pariser told Variety, “When I went to Waterville, Maine and asked how many people from MoveOn were there, probably three-quarters of the people there said yes.”

No surprise that the group tried to resuscitate “Sicko,” Moore’s recent box-office flop.

“Michael Moore's new movie 'Sicko' could put healthcare at the top of the nation's political agenda — and we can help,” MoveOn’s Web site told its members, adding, “If opening week is a success, lots more people will go see 'Sicko.'”

Thankfully, it wasn’t and folks didn’t.

Back in July 2004 Hollywood actors, writers, and directors joined with MoveOn to campaign against President Bush. Ed Asner, Danny Glover, Al Franken, Kevin Bacon, Margaret Cho, Woody Harrelson, Scarlett Johansson, Alicia Silverstone, Rob Reiner, Errol Morris, and Aaron Sorkin wrote, directed, and starred in TV spots for MoveOnPAC.

And in Spring 2007, conspiracy buff Oliver Stone directed an anti-war commercial for MoveOn. The message was: “Tell Congress: Support Our Troops, Bring Them Home.”

“Like in Vietnam,” Stone told CNN, “We are reaping a harvest of death and shame around the world.”

2. Eva Longoria Hates Kissing

Since exchanging marriage vows with basketball star Tony Parker, Eva Longoria apparently has a new perspective when it comes to kissing on cue.

Part and parcel of many an acting gig is the requisite love scene. But the “Desperate Housewives” actress, whose character’s amorous activities are trademark, now dreads onscreen make-outs.

“It was weird for me before I was married. I hate the kissing. Kissing is the most intimate thing,” the actress told the Evening Echo, an Irish newspaper.

Longoria’s kiss aversion has grown to the point that it’s a taboo topic around new hubby.

“We don't talk about it because it's just not a comfortable thing…,” Longoria shared.

She added, “I'm not sure he's happy with it, but he's not the crazy husband about it.”

3. Lindsay Lohan’s Hollywood Change of Heart

Lindsay Lohan hadn’t seen her father since he went to a New York prison after being found guilty of driving under the influence and related charges in 2005.

Lohan’s dad Michael recently reunited with his daughter at the Cirque Lodge treatment center in Utah, and she apparently told him something rather encouraging.

“When we finally came face to face we just clung on to each other and did not stop crying for at least half an hour,” Michael told News of the World.

“Daddy, I have done some terrible things and been addicted to drugs but please believe me I will never do drugs again. I hate Hollywood and I don't want to work there,” Lindsay said, according to her dad.

She added, “I need a break and I am moving away. I will stop hanging around with the people that are bad for me.”

Michael indicated that Lindsay no longer wants “to live in Hollywood as that is where the evil in her life happens.”

4. Madonna Calls Herself Jewish Ambassador

Some celebrities fancy themselves as royalty, others as diplomats. The material girl is trying to wear both hats.

On a recent excursion to Israel, Madonna had the opportunity to meet with Shimon Peres at his residence in Jerusalem.

The Israeli president reportedly gave the pop princess a beautifully bound copy of the Old Testament and she gave him a copy of a primer on Kabbalah called “The Book of Splendor.”

“You don't know how popular 'The Book of Splendor' is among Hollywood actors,” Madonna told Peres.

She went on to declare herself an emissary of the Jewish faith.

“Everyone I meet talks to me only about that. I am an ambassador for Judaism," Madonna announced.

5. Political Potshots Pay Off for Mediocre Jon Stewart

Jon Stewart hosts the 2006 Academy Awards ceremonies, does a so-so job, gets pretty bad ratings, and then gets asked to host again the following year.

That’s sooo liberal Hollywood.

How else do you explain it?

The comic face of “The Daily Show,” who in 2007 hosted the lowest rated, slowest moving Oscars to date, has now been offered the big gig for the 2008 show, which is set to air Feb. 24.

Lefties in Hollywood love that Stewart routinely uses his program as a dunk tank for their political rivals.

Leave it to the Academy to ignore mediocre jokes and low ratings in favor of partisan pandering.
