1. Al Gore's Other Green

It turned out that, when it came to his speeches on global warming, Al Gore was interested in another kind of green.

The environmental seer reportedly raked in around $100,000 for a 75-minute-long University of California, San Diego enviro-sermon, according to thesmokinggun.com.

Taking a cue from Angelina Jolie, Gore insisted that he be able to pre-approve any banners, logos, and communications materials for the event and that there would be no reporters, video, or audio taping of his hot-air lecture.

Gore's other demands included first-class air travel for two, a $1,000 per day expense account, his own security guards, and, of course, a hybrid car.

2. Jennifer Aniston's Shower Secret

Al Gore's earth preaching prompted all sorts of worldly wisdom to emerge from the mouths of stars.

Jennifer Aniston offered an earth-friendly pearl. She revealed her formula for safeguarding the planet's future, which involves a special form of whole body hygiene, according to "The Green Book" by Elizabeth Rogers and Thomas Kostigen.

While taking a shower, Aniston also brushes her teeth.

"I take a three-minute shower. I even brush-wash-brush my teeth while I shower," Aniston announced.

The actress explained how shower multitasking helps people in Africa.

"Every two minutes in the shower uses as much water as a person in Africa uses for everything in their life for a whole day."

Perhaps next Aniston can figure out a way to include in her shower a few loads of laundry and a day's worth of dishes.

3. Barbra Streisand's Energy Excesses

Barbra Streisand has done a lot of sermonizing on the environment over the years.

Who could ever forget the way the crooner coached Californians to save energy by using clotheslines to dry their laundry?

Interestingly, though, when it comes to her own energy consumption, it turns out that the "Funny Girl" is quite the energy hypocrite.

Babs' 2007 transcontinental trek was referred to as the most expensive concert tour of all time.

The singer-actress-Democratic activist had to cancel the first leg of her European tour because of what the press reported as "absurd ticket prices."

In Italy, protesters asked that Streisand be barred from using a 24,000-seat stadium in Rome.

At a venue in Manchester, England, Streisand traveled in a limo accompanied by her 13 tractor-trailer trucks. Behind the stage that was blanketed with roses were five furnished suites, 60 tables, and 120 bath towels.

To get to her next concert stop, Streisand was transported via private jet.

Imagine what Babs will demand the next time she comes out of retirement.

4. Sean Penn's Dictator Devotion

Sean Penn paid a visit to big-time enemy of freedom Hugo Chavez in 2007.

Penn traveled all the way to Caracas, Venezuela to applaud the dastardly dictator. While he was at it, he launched a verbal attack on President Bush, too.

Even Chavez understands that when it comes to geopolitics, a lot of Hollywood stars are a few shots short of a pint.

The Stalin wannabe described his celebrity buddy as "well informed about what goes on in the United States and in the world." Unfortunately for Penn, Chavez tacked on the caveat "despite being in Hollywood."

Either Penn doesn't know or doesn't believe that the Chavez government is abandoning democratic tradition, extending state control over the economy, eliminating free speech, stamping out dissent and basically leading Venezuela down a totalitarian path.

Actress Maria Conchita Alonso told The Associated Press that she hopes Penn "comes to his senses and he realizes that he's being used."

5. John Edwards Booed at Iowa Rock Concert

The artist formerly known as John "Cougar" Mellencamp put on a performance at the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa.

At one point during the event, the rocker motioned to the side of the stage and up popped Democratic presidential hopeful John Edwards, who strolled to the center to meet Mellencamp.

When the crowd realized who the sleekly coifed sidekick was, they began booing.

Disregarding the boos, Edwards proceeded to give a short speech and then exited stage left.

Mellencamp mentioned that he "had a lot of fun with that guy [Edwards]."

Evidently, the crowd did too.
