The costs associated with healthcare are Americans' top financial worry, according to a new survey.

The results of a recent Gallup poll show healthcare garnered a 17 percent rating, far more than the next item on the list: too much debt or not having enough money to pay debt, at 11 percent.

Other key findings:

  • A lack of money/low wages and college expenses are the main financial worry for 10 percent of Americans.
  • The costs associated with renting or owning a home drew a 9 percent rating.
  • 6 percent said retirement savings is their top financial stressor.
  • 2 percent pointed to a lack of savings.
  • 16 percent said they do not have any financial worries.

The rising cost of healthcare has been well-documented in recent years. Republicans are now trying to repeal and replace Obamacare, which they say has caused healthcare prices to skyrocket.

A version of the Senate's healthcare bill was unveiled Thursday and the reviews are mixed, with several GOP lawmakers saying they will not support it as is.
