Quercetin Protects Your Prostate

As men get older, they often experience a number of prostate problems, such as enlargement, (prostatic hypertrophy), chronic prostatitis, or prostate cancer.

Three of the most beneficial plant flavonoids for prostate health are curcumin, silymarin, and quercetin. In combination they dramatically improve prostate health and go a long way in preventing prostate cancer.

A new study found that quercetin inhibited several mechanisms required by prostate cancers for growth, especially invasion and metastasis (what makes prostate cancer deadly).

In this study quercetin powerfully inhibited cancer cell-signaling pathways that control the release of angiogenesis factor, which sets the stage for prostate cancer spread.

Previous studies have shown that quercetin reduces prostate inflammation in cases of chronic prostatitis and reduces prostate hypertrophy.

While it is oil soluble in its raw state, there are water soluble forms, such as Quercenase. The usual dose is 500 to 1,000 mg three times a day with meals.

Quercetin has a very good record of safety.
