Increase Your Brain Power

I have had to overcome two brain traumas in my life. If you or someone you know plays sports or even rides skateboards, make sure they wear proper safety gear. We may have a hard skull but it is protecting a jelly like ball of fat that is our brain.

I recovered fully through nutrition and brain therapies that have changed my life. Let’s explore some ways to help us strengthen our brains and improve our memories.

Nutrition
The brain is a fat-based organ. Brains utilize fatty acids that we consume from fish or plant sources like hemp seeds, chia seeds, algae oil, and coconut oil. So the most important tool in nutrition for your brain is fat.

You should a high-quality omega 3 fat either animal- or plant-based, eat more coconut oil and grass fed butter, and eat less carbohydrates and excess protein.

The brain also craves stimulation from different herbs. There is a class of herbs called nootropics that herbs contain phytochemicals that stimulate the brain and improve brain function.

Mucuna Puriens contains a brain boosting phytochemical called Leva Dopa, which will stimulate the brain to make a stronger connection to the physical body.

Ashwaganda increases memory and strengthens the nerves of the brain.

Bacopa is an herb that has been proven to increase short-term memory and help you increase intelligence with new information you learn.


Brain Exercises
It’s so easy to have a lazy brain. The brain needs stimulation and we weaken our brains by vegging out on TV or video games. The brain wants to learn and utilize new information. This is why reading, learning, and playing brain stimulating games are better pastimes.

I like to read about stuff I enjoy learning about like nutrition and science. I also play music and listen to music to stimulate my brain. The average popular song today is written at a 3rd grade level. I listen to complicated and complex music. As your brain changes the need for complexity and expansion begins to increase.


Brain toxicity
We need to get rid of toxicity and start supporting the brain and our overall intelligence. Stay away from fluoride in toothpaste, tap water, and toxic drugs. Stay away from bad fats that are hydrogenated. Stay away from heavy metals using toxic paints and cleaners in the home. Mercury fillings need to be removed as they will directly affect the brain and nervous system.
