Harrison Ford is recovering from injuries he received last week when the plane he was piloting went down over a California golf course.
Calista Flockhart, 50, has visited her husband every day, usually after dropping their 14-year-old son, Liam, at school, a source told People magazine
“She brings him food and reading material,” the unidentified person told the entertainment publication.
Flockhart and Ford married in 2010 after being together for eight years. Right after the plane went down, a source told People, “Calista spent most of the weekend by Harrison's side. She arrived early every morning and returned home late every night. She was under stress."
To all appearances, the couple has a stable marriage and an insider told the magazine, “They often seem to operate a bit in their own world together." Both enjoy flying, and Ford has talked about how much he appreciates that Flockhart likes to fly with him.
A preliminary report from the National Transportation Safety Board found there was significant damage to the vintage plane due to engine failure.
The report indicated Ford took off from the Santa Monica Municipal Airport on Thursday, but shortly after doing so, he requested permission to return to the airport because the engine failed.
“However, about 800 feet from the runway, the plane struck a tree and he was forced to make an emergency landing on a golf course nearby,” Yahoo said
People magazine reported right after the accident
that Ford had a cut on his head the size of a “pancake,” and said his son, Ben Ford, tweeted that he was, “Battered, but ok!!” That tweet was later removed.
Insurance experts interviewed by The Los Angeles Times said it’s likely that Ford’s future movie contracts
will include a clause that prevents him from piloting a plane while he’s working on the set.
