The Shocking Truth About Robin Williams' Suicide-Dementia Link

Did Dementia Push Robin Williams to Suicide?

Recent reports show the late Robin Williams suffered from a condition called Lewy body dementia. This may have contributed to his suicide.

According to the Lewy Body Dementia Association, this is not a rare disease. In fact, Lewy body dementia (LBD) affects about 1.3 million people in the U.S.

Symptoms of LBD include hallucinations, depression, confusion, and impaired decision making. Dementia with Lewy bodies often overlaps with Parkinson’s dementia, making LBD an umbrella term for both diagnoses.

Additionally, the medications used to treat Parkinson’s symptoms can have severe side effects, including hallucinations. Robin’s wife disclosed to authorities that, shortly before his death, he had complained about the meds and how they made him feel.

Dr. Russell Blaylock is a renowned former neurosurgeon turned health advocate. Both his parents suffered from fatal brain degenerative disorders. This led him to spend the rest of his medical career studying brain conditions such as dementia, Parkinson’s, and Alzheimer’s.
