Alzheimer's Jumps From 6th to 3rd Leading Cause of Death, Scientists Say

According to the Alzheimer’s Association, more than half a million seniors die annually from Alzheimer’s disease, now considered by the Centers for Disease Control to be the 6th leading cause of death in the United States.

However, according to a study just published in the journal Neurology, deaths due to Alzheimer’s have been massively under-reported, with researchers confirming that Alzheimer’s should actually be considered the 3rd leading cause of death in the U.S. (after heart disease and cancer).

This recent study found that Alzheimer’s is under-diagnosed by many doctors not well-trained in geriatrics, often going unrecorded on patient charts. Additionally, death certificates often only list the immediate cause of death for Alzheimer’s patients. For example, the death certificate might state pneumonia or some other cause, despite the fact that the pneumonia was a direct result of the progressively fatal Alzheimer’s.

ALERT: Know These 3 Warning Signs You're About to Get Dementia

Also, many patients and their families mistakenly view dementia as a normal part of aging, and never seek testing for Alzheimer’s.

Renowned neurosurgeon and health advocate Dr. Russell Blaylock watched both his parents die from a brain degenerative disorder, which led him to spend the remainder of his medical career studying brain conditions such as Alzheimer’s. He warns that diseases affecting the brain are now appearing earlier, more frequently, and to a much more severe degree.

And in a unique video documentary presentation showcasing Dr. Blaylock’s findings, you can now discover 5 warning signs that could be elevating your risk of developing Alzheimer’s or some other devastating brain condition. Fortunately, you have some control over these factors — but only after you’ve identified them.
