Sun Pharmaceutical has recalled 216,000 bottles of a high blood pressure medicine due to potential chemical leaching.

According to a new Food and Drug Administration Enforcement Report, Mutual Pharmaceutical — a division of Sun Pharma — the recall applies to187,106 bottles of felodipine extended-release blood pressure tablets and 29,660 bottles of the antidepressant imipramine.

Sun Pharma said that during long-term stability testing found trace amounts of benzophenone in the drugs, which it said is unlikely to cause any adverse effects. But out of an abundance of caution, it decided to initiate the recall.
