One can limit daily sodium intake to 2,300 milligrams or less. For people 51 and older, the recommended daily consumption is 1,500 milligrams or less.
Reduce stress. Stress is the reason of several diseases. It can also cause high blood pressure. Anxiety and stress can lead to a temporary increase in blood pressure. One should try to avoid stressful situations. Deep breathing exercise is a great way to cope with stress. Exercise and meditation reduce hypertension.
