Lady Gaga has gone public with her struggles with chronic pain from fibromyalgia and plans to release a documentary describing how she has learned to live with the disease.
The singer took to Twitter this week saying that she suffers from the disorder and she is hoping to raise more awareness about it, the Daily Mail reports.
Fibromyalgia causes musculoskeletal pain throughout the body. The disease affects an estimated five million in the United States, most of them women.
The pain is typically accompanied by extreme fatigue, mood, memory and sleep problems.
Researchers believe that fibromyalgia might be influenced by the pain receptors in the brain.
