Alcohol: Self-Medication Killer

Depression is so pervasive in women over 40 that many self-medicate with alcohol, even in addition to antidepressants.

Alcoholism is rampant in middle-age and older women.

Women cannot tolerate or process alcohol to the same degree as men.

This is because the liver enzymes that detoxify alcohol are not present to the same degree in women as they are in men.

At the same time women increase their alcohol consumption to feel better, to be more functional, to put on a happy face when they feel horrific, they are destroying their bodies, start looking old, sick, and overweight.

The easy way to eliminate the problem is to add the missing hormones, including thyroid. Low thyroid is so common it is of epidemic proportions.

Unfortunately, it often goes misdiagnosed and untreated by conventional doctors.
