Walk this Way! Burn an extra 250 calories daily by walking 3-3.5 miles per hour for 60 minutes. You'll lose about half a pound a week!
How? Make your feet the go-to choice for getting around. In addition to a walking routine, start taking the stairs, not the elevator. Try running errands without the car (what a concept!).
Decrease exposure to fat-magnet foods and chemicals. They make it easier to gain weight and harder to lose weight.
How? Eliminate processed foods; say "au revoir" to red meat. Say "hasta la vista" to hormone-disrupting chemicals in plastics (with recycle codes 3, 6, 7), cash-register receipts, antibacterial (triclosan) cleaning products, fire retardants and pesticides.
Advocate for healthy programs. One voice can change the world!
How? Encourage schools to provide daily recess. Lobby all levels of government for recreation areas and bike/pedestrian lanes for adults and kids. And lobby yourself for change! Today is a great time to buy a pedometer and start your "Walk 10K-a-day, No Excuses" routine.
