How Can I Get Rid of My Double-Chin?

By    |   Friday, 25 July 2014 04:58 PM EDT

Question: I’m not overweight, but have a double-chin. Is there anything I can do about it? I don’t want to have plastic surgery.

Dr. Hibberd's answer:

Double chins result from a stretched and undertoned platysma muscle. Local Botox helps temporarily, and selected laser may help. Other topical treatments are not really useful, and weight loss is usually helpful but not corrective.

Many patients end up needing a mini face lift to correct the sagging jowl look.
