Sleep Matters for Immunity

Getting enough sleep is very important to staying well; don’t skimp on it.

The healthiest people are those who get the most sleep — so goes an old proverb I just made up.

As we get older, we have a hard time getting those much needed winks and the result is sickness and aging.

The best way to prevent that is to be religious about your sleep. Get seven to eight hours a night regardless of your surroundings.

Try and make up for sleep lost during the week by sleeping more on the weekends.

If you have to get up early on dark winter mornings, make sure you go to sleep at least an hour earlier than usual. Also, spend time outside in daylight. Artificial light is an immune buster.
