Get Rid of Acne Scars

I'm in my 40s and have acne scars from my teenage years. What's the best way to make them look better?

There are a number of laser techniques available that claim to get rid of acne scars.

You can also look into peels, which remove the superficial layers of your skin, leaving it looking smoother, if not perfect.

Unfortunately, neither process is particularly comfortable.

You can expect a couple of days of redness, followed by some skin peeling, much like what would happen if you had a sunburn. They may be worth a try if money is no object.

If finances are a consideration, I would start with a good peel at your dermatologist’s office — not at a spa — because you’ll get more value for your money. The acid in the peels the doctor uses is stronger and more effective than in peels done without physician supervision.
