Is Watermelon Diet Dangerous?

Tuesday, 31 January 2012 09:31 AM

Dear Dr. Hibberd: My husband has lost about 20 pounds by eating watermelon constantly. This is a strange diet, but it has worked to help him lose excess weight. My question is, is it unhealthy for him to be eating so much melon? He goes through an entire large watermelon every two days.

There are some diet plans that suggest the watermelon helps you to lose weight. With so much melon, he may lose essential nutrients. And now that he has lost that excess weight, he needs to start eating a balanced healthy diet which will give him the right mix of proteins, carbohydrates and minerals. In combination with an exercise plan, he can maintain his current body weight.
