The Cure for Typhoid Fever

Tuesday, 20 Dec 2011 09:20 AM

Question: I’m suffering from typhoid starting three weeks ago. I’m taking an antibiotic medicine given to me by my doctor. Is it likely that this will cure it?

Dr. Hibberd’s answer:
Antibiotic therapy is the only effective treatment for typhoid fever. Make sure that you boil water before you drink water, or drink bottled water. Sometimes antibiotics can be resistant to typhoid infection and your symptoms may return. Make sure you visit your treating physician for a follow-up visit soon.
