Help For Husband's Snoring

Wednesday, 28 December 2011 09:33 AM

Question: At age 68, my husband has recently started snoring very loudly. I’ve been married to him for 45 years and I never knew him to snore. Could this be an indication of a health problem?

Dr. Hibberd's answer:

It may be likely that your husband has become overweight over the years, since that does lead to snoring. Also it suggests that he may be at a risk for high blood pressure, heart disease, and stroke. It is advisable to get a thorough workup with your family physician to know the reason for the snoring.
