How Can I Prevent Vertigo?

Wednesday, 07 December 2011 08:52 AM

Question: How can I prevent vertigo from returning, and how can I stop it if it does return?
Dr. Hibberd's Answer:
Your doctor can prescribe medications that can ease your vertigo once the exact cause has been established. The following measures may also help: Change your position slowly (from lying or sitting to a standing position), make sure your eye and hearing prescriptions are recent, fix your sight on a distant object while riding in a car or walking, and avoid shaking your head back and forth.
