Question: Will glucosamine adversely affect cholesterol levels?

Dr. Hibberd's Answer:

Glucosamine sulphate has no significant effect on lipid levels. However experimental studies in animals suggest that glucosamine may favor lipid accumulation in body tissues. The jury is still out regarding accumulation of lipids within blood vessels with long-term glucosamine use.
