Tamiflu: Ineffective Waste of Money

The Big Pharma cartel would have you believe that if you get the flu you should take Tamiflu, the most commonly prescribed antiviral medication in America.

In fact, the U.S. government has purchased billions of dollars worth of Tamiflu — enough to treat more than 65 million people.

In a time of budget crises and increasing healthcare costs, is it reasonable for the U.S. government to stockpile Tamiflu?

The answer may be yes, if it was an effective treatment. But it isn’t.

In fact, the government has thrown away billions of our dollars on a medication that just doesn’t work.

In Family Practice News, a question was asked: “Is Tamiflu effective in reducing symptom duration and complications in children and adults with presumed influenza?”

The bottom line reads, “Treatment of children with Tamiflu will decrease symptom duration by approximately one day, will not reduce hospitalizations, and does not seem to be effective in children with asthma. In adults, symptom reduction is less striking — less than one day — and hospitalization will not be decreased. Vomiting in both groups is more likely with treatment.”

Flu shots provide a miniscule benefit — and plenty of toxic additives. Drugs that are meant to treat the flu are also ineffective.

I am amazed that any doctor would recommend them. I don’t understand why so many doctors decided to accept mediocrity.

So when thinking about the flu shot, I say: “Fuggetaboutit.”
