Reduce Prostate Cancer's Fuel

Monday, 22 Oct 2012 09:01 AM

Question: I was diagnosed with prostate cancer more than a year ago. What can I take to fight the cancer?

Dr. Blaylock's Answer:

All cancer cells have two main fuels they can use - glucose and glutamine. Glutamine is a two-edged sword in that it stimulates immunity, but some tumors are glutamine-dependent, meaning that they grow much faster and become much more invasive when glutamine is present in the diet.

The main driving force for prostate cancers is inflammation, and glutamate is one of the factors that make these tumors more malignant and invasive. Glutamine is converted into glutamate in the cancer cells.

A number of natural supplements suppress prostate cancer. These include quercetin, curcumin, resveratrol, luteolin, lycopene, and silymarin.

All of the above supplements reduce inflammation.
