Can natural supplements work as effectively as medication to lower blood sugar? A spate of recent studies suggests the answer is yes.

Researchers tell The Express that Ginseng supplements help to lower blood sugar for diabetes patients.

In fact, panax ginseng lowers blood sugar within one hour of consumption, a study revealed.

Ginseng is an herb that has been used for centuries in for a variety of healing practices. Scientific studies show it now only lowers blood sugar, but also suppresses appetite naturally, which can boost weight loss — another factor that can manage or even reverse Type 2 diabetes.

Uncontrolled diabetes can lead to a number of complications, including heart disease, stroke, nerve damage, and kidney disease.

Experts note patients should speak to a physician before taking any supplement.
