President-elect Donald Trump on Saturday slammed a cast member from the Broadway show "Hamilton" on Twitter then deleted his tweet, Buzzfeed News reports.

Trump was set off when the Hamilton cast, led by actor Brandon Victor Dixon, made a politically charged appeal to Vice President-elect Mike Pence at Friday’s show. He was reading from a note card when he made the statement.

Pence was in the crowd when, after the curtain call, Dixon took the microphone and pointed to him.

"You know, we have a guest in the audience this evening — Vice President-elect Pence, I see you walking out but I hope you hear just a few more moments," Dixon said from the stage. "Sir, we hope that you will hear us out."

As Pence stood by the exit, Dixon said to him, "We, sir, are the diverse America who are alarmed and anxious that your new administration will not protect us — our planet, our children, our parents — or defend us and uphold our inalienable rights, sir. But we truly hope this show has inspired you to uphold our American values and to work on behalf of all of us. All of us."

Trump, in his tweet, said the cast was "very rude." In an earlier tweet, he said Pence was "harassed" at the theater and that it shouldn’t have happened.

Since his election on Nov. 8, Trump has been quite restrained compared to his campaign days when he called Fox’s Megyn Kelly a "bimbo" and described Bette Midler as "extremely unattractive," among other insults.

Trump has vowed to act "presidential" with his tweeting, and some harsher tweets have been followed by some on the same subject that appeared more restrained, leading to speculation that his staff is responsible for the latter.
