Rasmussen Poll: Trump, Clinton in Virtual Tie Nationally

Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton are in a virtual tie, according to the latest national poll released by Rasmussen Reports on Tuesday.

The results:

  • Clinton: 42 percent;
  • Trump: 41 percent;
  • Gary Johnson: 9 percent;
  • Jill Stein: 2 percent;
  • Undecided: 4 percent.

Clinton's 1-point lead falls within the 2.5-percent margin of error.

Among those surveyed who say they may change their mind, Trump leads Clinton 31 percent to 27 percent.

The survey of 1,500 likely voters was conducted Sept. 29 and Oct. 2-3 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 2.5 percentage points with a 95 percent level of confidence.
