Ferguson, Missouri, Police Chief Thomas Jackson said Monday that Michael Brown's stepfather, Louis Head, is being investigated for possibly inciting a riot after a Nov. 24 grand jury report said police officer Darren Wilson would not be indicted in Brown's shooting death.
Head can be seen in a video shouting, "Burn this mother------ down! Burn this b---- down!" immediately after the grand jury's decision was announced. Soon afterward, some of the protesters began trying to turn over a police car and several businesses were looted and burned.
"Do you believe those comments should be pursued? Is that inciting a riot?" Sean Hannity asked Jackson on Monday on his
Fox News Channel program, "Hannity."
"We are pursuing those comments," Jackson answered.
The Smoking Gun reports that Head has a rap sheet dating to at least 1997, including two felony narcotics convictions. He spent five years in prison, from 2003 to 2008.
He and Brown's mother,
Lesley McSpadden, also are under investigation for reportedly attacking three vendors selling Michael Brown T-shirts on Oct. 18. One of the victims was Michael Brown Sr.'s mother-in-law.
