Syndicated talk radio host Rush Limbaugh was impressed with the conservatism he saw on the GOP debate stage Wednesday night, telling his audience on Thursday that every candidate on the stage sounded like himself.

"Chris Christie came out of the grave and once again sounded like a conservative last night," Limbaugh said.

"Carly Fiorina is a RINO [Republican in Name Only] in many ways in her past," he added, noting she was part of the John McCain presidential campaign in 2008 and criticized Texas Sen. Ted Cruz for his role in the 2013 government shutdown.

But on Wednesday she returned to talking about the character of the country and opposing Planned Parenthood and the Iran nuclear deal.

Cruz and Florida Sen. Marco Rubio also did well, he said.

"I really thought that there was a lot of conservatism. There was a time I thought that I was watching 11 Rush Limbaughs last night," he said.

As for front-runner Donald Trump: "Whatever else you want to say, [he] has clearly moved many of the other candidates to the right, and not just on the subject of illegal aliens," Limbaugh said.
