The House Select Committee on Benghazi still has to get to the truth behind the Sept. 11, 2012 attacks that left four Americans dead, Rep. Jim Jordan said Friday, as the Obama administration is continuing to stonewall.

"It would be a lot easier if they'd be straight with us," the Ohio Republican, who serves on the committee, told CNN's "New Day" co-host Alisyn Camerota. "If the State Department would give us the information we need and the Obama administration would be more accommodating."

Jordan, who was among committee members who questioned former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton during a marathon 11-hour session on Thursday, told Camerota that he does not accept many of Clinton's explanations.

This includes her explanation about how she told then-Egyptian Prime Minister Hesham Qandil a group that was affiliated with or "wanted to be" affiliated with al-Qaida claimed, and then denied responsibility, for the attack.

"She said to the Egyptian prime minister, we know, not I think, we know it was not the film," said Jordan, referencing an anti-Muslim film initially blamed for the attack.

Clinton's emails also show she told daughter Chelsea there had been a terror attack.

"She could tell her family the truth, she could tell the Egyptian prime minister the truth, she could tell the president of Libya the truth, but she wasn't straight with the American people," Jordan said.

He said he asked if a neutral third party, such as a retired federal judge, could look at the information, but Clinton said no.

"We know they misled the American people on the very night of the attack," said Jordan. "We know she controlled the information, her email, which are public, which are private.

"That's why it's relevant."
